Cucumber has a soothing effect on the skin. It is one of the best ways to tackle sunburn. It has the properties to effectively work on your tarred skin to give desired relief.
Allow the cucumber to get chilled in the refrigerator. Next, blend the chilled cucumber and add aloe Vera gel to get a thick past for lasting results. Apply the paste on your face. Leave for about 20 minutes for maximum effects. Then rinse. Repeat until you achieve desired results.

2. Avoid suds
It is an error to soak your burns in soapy water. If you have sunburn and you are in the habit of soaking yourself in the bath containing soapy water, you will end up aggravating the issues.
If you are to soak yourself, it should be in ordinary clean water. After getting your desired satisfactions, come out of your bath and dab yourself with a clean towel.
3. Plain yogurts

Squeeze out the sock into your tub. Do not spend more 30 minutes in the tub to avoid side effects. You can now dab your skin.
6. Witch hazel

- 3 tablespoons of witch hazel, approximately
- Cotton balls or a clean soft cloth
You will need more than the volume stated above if you desire to cover a large area on your body. Get the necessary amount into a clean bowl and with cotton wool; dab the affected areas on your skin with witch hazel.

- 1 cup roughly apple cider vinegar

8. Aloe Vera

You can use the gel or the stem. If the burn covers a big area on your body; you are advised to use the stem of aloe Vera. Slit several leaves to the middle if you are using the stem and spread them flat; you can now lie on the burn.
9. Mints and tea
It has both cooling and soothing properties on the skin
- 1 quart of boiling water
- 5 green tea bags
- 3 cups of fresh mint leaves
- Cotton pads or a clean soft cloth
Mix the ingredients above in a bowl with the exception of Cotton pads or the clean soft cloth and cover with a lid for an hour for necessary reactions to take place. Afterwards, strain the mixture. Allow it to chill; then apply on the burn with cotton pads or clean soft cloth.
When your body is dehydrated, sunburn sets in. A very easy measure to counter this is to keep your jar of water handy. Drink enough to keep your body dehydrated at all times.
11. Cornstarch / baking soda
It is also one of the effective remedies in fighting sunburn.
- Cornstarch or baking soda
- Cool water
Get a paste of either cornstarch/baking soda mixed in cool water. Apply on the affected parts of your body. Rinse after the brittle pains have eased down.
12. Cool milk compress
This is also a quick way to get desired relief from sunburn.
- Gauze or a clean, soft, washcloth
- Chilled milk
Get enough milk into a bowl, enough for you to soak your compress in it. Let the liquid drain off when your compress is saturated and drape it across your sunburn
